The club will support any member over 14 who wishes to work towards their Duke of Edinburgh Award
We will assist with organising or supervising activities within the programme and if necessary allow the members to carry out the activities on a club night

What is the Duke Of Edinburgh Awards

The award is a programme of activities for you to do in your spare time. There are three Awards to try for: Bronze, Silver, and Gold. Gold takes the longest to do and is the hardest one to try for - usually, people start off on the Bronze award.
You simply have to choose one activity under each of these headings, and do it for a set length of time:

The Award is a Four-Section programme with three levels:

Bronze (for those aged 14 and over)

Silver   (for those aged 15 and over) and

Gold    (for those aged 16 and over).

The Sections involve:

So far the club has assisted 2 members to obtain their Bronze awards.
Natalie and Amy are both now 19 so have had to leave the club.
Both enjoyed the activities they were involved in to obtain their Bronze Awards, they had cooking lessons every week producing excellent meals, they went on expeditions either for 1 day or over a whole weekend, hiking and camping around the Kent country side (As part of a larger group made up of youths from other organisations).
They are both considering working towards their Silver award in the future
