Higham Youth Club
Demelza House Children's Hospice aims to provide support to families who have a child with a life limiting condition.
We recognise that each child is a unique, developing individual whose best interests must be paramount.
Our focus is on adding life to days when days cannot be added to life
What is Demelza?
Demelza is an organisation providing hospice care for over 450 children with life-limiting illnesses and their families across Kent, East Sussex and South London through:
•Residential Hospice Care
•Hospice at Home Care
•Our Child project in South London
Demelza House is an 8-bedded children's hospice offering children the opportunity to enjoy residential short breaks (with the option of families staying as well) in beautiful Kent countryside. There are currently over 300 families with life-limited children who use these unique facilities
Help Raise funds for DEMELZA
How can you help raise funds for this worthy cause?
Higham Youth Club has pledged to support the Demelza project by helping to raise funds in 2007
Recently, Donna Wells from the Demelza team spent an evening at the youth club and gave our members a talk on how Demelza supports children with a life limiting or life threatening condition and their families.
This raised the interest of the members in how they can support the project.
Fund raising events are being discussed but nothing has yet been finalised.
Possibly a way how you and your families can help is to give up something you like or enjoy for a few months, the money you would have spent can then be passed though the club to Demelza
A few examples
3 cans of coke per week £1.50, per Month = £6, 3 Months = £18
Chocolate Bars, 1 Bar per week £0.45, Per Month = £1.80, 3 Months = £5.40
£5 Top up on your Mobile Per Month. 3 Months = £15
Total = £38.40
The funds very quickly add up.
A simple form has been produced which will show what you have promised to give up and how much you pledge to raise by this very small sacrifice.
If you complete the form and return it, we will put your Christian name in BLUE on the our home page of when you have raised the money we will change your name to RED.
Details will also be added to this page showing your sacrifices and a running total of funds raised by you and your club.
